The Basin Reserve Shiraz
Wine
Leogate Estate Wines The Basin Reserve Shiraz is grown on the estate Brokenback Vineyard at Pokolbin. The old Shiraz vines lie on gentle undulations of east and west facing slopes.
The aim of the winemaking is to express a sense of where the fruit is grown. To this end, the grapes are fermented in small, separate batches.
The fruit is crushed and destemmed, then fermented on skins. The wine matures in new and seasoned French oak barrels before it is prepared for bottling.
Vibrant crimson purple, Leogate Estate Wines The Basin Reserve Shiraz has rich fruit flavours with peppery, spicy complexity, polished tannins and a long finish.
A generous Hunter Valley Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
